In July 21st and July 22nd, PCB welcomed the delegation from Credit Information Bureau of Sri Lanka (CRIB) at PCB’s office at Vietcombank Tower, 198 Tran Quang Khai, Ha Noi. The delegation was led by Mr. K.A. Janaka Lakmal.

Established in 1990, CRIB is the first Credit Bureau in South Asia. Over 25 years of operation, their database has reached an impressive number of 4 million borrowers with a population of more than 22 million people. In a near future, the number can reach 15 million when CRIB connects to telecommunication companies. Besides providing credit reports to credit institutions and borrowers, CRIB also provides value-added products like batch request, Email-Alerts, Bureau Score… Especially, CRIB provides Secured Transactions Registry service, which brings great value to the credit industry of this country.

In 2 working days in Vietnam, CRIB has worked with PCB’s managers to share experience of deploying credit bureau project. Both sides have been actively exchanged know-how and experience of operating and developing a credit bureau.

This is a rare opportunity for the staff of two credit bureaus to have a chance to discuss and learn about each other. Both sides highly appreciate this site visit and would like to continue to have similar experience-sharing activities in the future.
